We have found an amazing secret. Our movie theater. Harry Potter opened Wednesday. Friday, we had Paul's parents here to babysit Dallin, so we went to the movies. Now tell me if this has ever happened to you all out there in Utah Valley land or anywhere else for that matter....
We decided to go to the 6:30 show at 6:15.
We left our house at 6:24. In my mind, "We'll be lucky enough to get tickets for the 11pm show."
Arrived at the theater at 6:32.
Parked in a front row stall.
Paul ran to the ticket booth, out of breath, "Do you have any tickets left for HP at 6:30?!?!"
Ticket girl, looking at Paul like he's crazy, "Yeah."
"2 please!" Tickets are only $6 each!
We walk in, no lines anywhere.
We get to the right theater and look inside, prepared to sit separately, being so late.
And then we both chuckle!
The room is slightly over half full.
Boy do we love our small town movie theater!!!

Crazy, Cute, and Creative!
What funny boys I have! I was thinking about just 6 months ago how I could grab the camera and take some pictures of Dallin doing something crazy and it would come out so clear and perfect. It would be a great picture! A couple things have changed since then. First, I broke that "perfect" camera that I loved so much. And second, Dallin's speed and agility at getting away from the camera has increased about ten fold! It is hard to get a picture where he is holding still, smiling, and where I can see his face in the camera! Oh, well! He says "cheese" every once in a while, but as he does, he runs full speed at the camera. Or he tries to grab it, like in this picture!
Paul always asks me why I am never in the picture. One, because I am always taking them. And two, because Dallin is quite the Daddy's boy. So any time that Paul is home, Dallin is close behind. It has always been this way. They are like two peas in a pod. They are so cute together. Dallin loves everything that Paul does. Except all those vegetables! I love my "twin" boys!
These boys have quite the sweet tooth! I have to either hide any sweets from them, or not buy them at all. And I admit that I like to eat them too! And I have also been known to ask Paul to hide candy from me! So Paul is always asking me to make cookies, cakes, brownies, anything with chocolate and sugar. I made rice crispy treats the other day. Every time Paul went to cut himself a piece, he take a corner here or a chunk there. I mentioned to him how he could just cut a square and here is what he came up with...
Quite creative! They still tasted the same and we still ate them all!

And we'll have fun, fun, fun 'till Daddy has to go to work!
We had a pretty fun morning on the Fourth of July. We went to Lexington's festivities until Paul had to go to work in the afternoon :( The time we did have together was great. Dallin did a pretty good job at putting down a hot dog in the park!
We had a great time feeding the alpaca...
And the baby cow. And we also fed a goat, a lamb, and a huge, hairy camel.
There was a big fountain that Dallin ran for, so we let him play in it for about an hour! He was having so much fun and he got soaking wet. Paul took his shoes off and played with him, what a fun Dad!
There was a cute old lady that was watching them play in the water. I got a picture of her taking pictures of them!
Hope the water's chlorinated!
Later that night while Paul was at work, some friends of ours picked Dallin and I up and took us to their house. We had fun eating food and playing games. It started raining, so the fireworks were few and far between in the sky. As we got ready to go home, the storm got worse. By the time we got in the car and got on the rode, it was a down pour. The tornado warning (that sound that I have come to love, okay loathe) went off and the rain picked even more. Further down the road, the street lights went out. I was gripping the arms of my chair so hard I thought my fingernails would puncher the fabric! I finally said, "I'm scared. Can we turn around and go back to your house?" Yes, I hate being alone with Dallin, in a storm, during a tornado warning, in the dark, without Paul! So we turned around, got back to her house and waited for the storm to pass and for Paul to get home. (I know, my traumatic life, right?!) Paul had to drive home from work in the storm and said that he was driving about 25 miles an hour on the freeway. We all got home safe and sound. And we had a fun and adventurous holiday!

Red, White, and Blue Baby
Sticking with the "Fourth of July" theme, here are some pics of Dallin's previous "Fourths". His first actual holiday was Memorial Day, he was 2 1/2 hours old. Here, on July 4th, he was only five weeks old. We took him to the parade in Provo. Me being a first time nurse-ee and Dallin not yet a master at suckling, I fed him in my father-in-law's truck, with the air conditioning running, and as many blankets as possible to cover me up, while the parade went on. What memories! We then went to my in-laws and had a BBQ and Paul took this little baby swimming. Okay, he got in the kiddie pool with him so that I could take pictures before all the "grandma's" fussed over him being in the sun too long. I remember changing his outfit 3 or 4 times that day due to accidents. And all of his outfits were patriotic, of course!
This the first time that I got a picture of him smiling. I can't remember how old he was, maybe two months. Anyway, this was one of my favorite outfits that he had.
And here is Dallin on the Fourth of July last year in Soda Springs, Idaho, after the parade. We were at my grandparents cabin in Lava Hot Springs for the family reunion. Good times!!!
At night, we go into town to play games at the park and watch the fireworks. The grand finale is always "lava flow" off of the mountain. Someone usually brings glow necklaces. I think it was my dad who decided to cover Dallin in them and let him crawl around in the dark. Flash off...
Flash on... I am not sure he liked all the attention that he was getting.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!
Boy do we miss our family this time of year! We will miss going to the cabin in Lava and to the parade in Soda and the fireworks off of the mountain. We'll also miss the early morning hot air balloons and parade in Provo. And the food and the fun and the fat-doggin. But we will make our own memories this year. Hope you all have a good one!!In honor of the holiday that we love (to get work off of), I hope you enjoy our new, festive blog!
