Blessing Dresses

Well, I thought I had it all planned out in my mind, but my mind keeps changing. Here are some pictures of dresses that I liked online. I like something about every one. I will let you take this information and run with an idea, if that's OK. I have every part of my dress, including the veil.

I like the cute puffy sleeves on this and the flow of the skirt. And the empire waist.
This is quite similar to the first dress, but the chiffon(?) hangs over, so cute. And I like that the bodice is not as plain looking as the first.
This is just really baby skin soft to me. I really like the bodice. (I hope I am using the right words, I really am sewing and design challenged)
I love how the skirt on this parts. I am not a fan of the top, though, at the moment (mostly the sleeves).
I just think this one is absolutely adorable how it looks like a mini wedding dress.
The traditional part of me likes this one. Maybe its the collar, or the detail.

Harvesting Time

This Spring, Paul spent hours outside, working on our first garden in our first home. We were so excited. He planted zucchini, cucumber, watermelon, cantaloupe, corn, tomatoes, onions, beet, radishes, green beans, basil, oregano, rosemary, cilantro and lettuce. Most of the herbs have come and gone, they were put to good use, too! We have also cut down the lettuce three times and eaten it once (bugs on lettuce while sick and pregnant do NOT mix). There is a softball sized watermelon hanging on to its vine, we can't wait to eat it. The radishes were nice and spicy. And the tomatoes are definitely thriving. Especially the grape tomato plant which is so tall now that it has grown through our deck and peaks out of the herb planter. And now the sad part of our garden story. The beets died out. The onions were mushy (I did save a few small ones and BBQ'd them, yummy). The beans grew only to be eaten by predators. The zucchini plant produced some beautiful flowers only to shrivel and die without producing ANY fruit (who has ever heard of NO zucchini in the summer?). The cucumbers all grew in a U shape. Who knows what will happen to the cantaloupe. And the corn, the funny corn. I think we might have accidentally bought the dwarf variety. The stalks only grew to be three feet high and produced this:
Paul wanted to cook them despite how they looked and they did taste good. And so I say to my dear husband, whose dreams of an abundant and productive garden are still not crushed (he's already talking about planting falls crops): Thank you for working so hard and having fun planting this lovely garden. Better luck next year!

Thank you for sleeping in...

After a long, fun-filled weekendfull of late nights, no (or short) naps and early mornings
THANK YOU, Dallin, for sleeping in on this beautiful Monday morning!
It is now 9:47 a.m. and I just hear your little body stirring and your little voice calling.

A little boy with a lot of flair!

Dallin has the funniest imagination. Lately, he loves to grab a canned food item and a pair of chopsticks out of the silverware drawer and play the drums. Yeah, like this lasted for long. He pulled his chair right up to the TV like he was king of the hill.
Paul and I were laughing at this outfit. He looked like a hippie. Tie-dye, capris and flip-flops. Yet here is the true description: Florida tourist destination T-shirt, Old Navy brand long shorts, and camouflage flip-flops. I think a true hippie would croak.
He doesn't look too happy either!

Va-Ca in KY

My family came to visit. Mom, Dad, sister Kodi, bro-in-law Jason, and brother Mike. A full house and full of fun. We went to the Kentucky Horse Park (again), Fort Boonesboro, and Natural Bridge State Park. We have a ton of pictures, so enjoy the show!

Oven Mitts

Either Dallin wants to be a chef when he grows up or he really wants to keeps his hands warm tonight! We think this fascination with oven mitts comes from watching us cook, or from watching Monsters Inc.. The part where Mike and Sully are with the abominable snowman in the mountains and Mike is so cold he puts oven mitts on his hands and feet. Whatever the reason, it sure is cute!
